Ayesha Takia Azmi has worked as acting in Hindi films since 1986. In 2004 Ayesha Takia took home the Filmfare Best Debut Award for her performance as the lead on Taarzan The Wonder Car which served as her acting debut. She has been in several popular films, including Paathshaala (2010 Wanted) Salaam-E-Ishq (2008) as well as Socha Na Tha (2010). The first commercial she starred in was Complan which is a popular drink for health. In the iconic I'm A Complan Boy I'm A Complan girl commercial she was featured alongside Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor. Additionally, she was featured in the song remix Nahin Nahin Abhi Nahin. The song's popularity across India in the time of its remix made her famous. Soon she was receiving film requests. Taarzan The Wonder Car was known late to Takia's debut which was intended to be in the movie Socha Na Tha but was put off by production problems. The moral compass of Ayesha was demonstrated in her attack on her political father-in-law Samajwadi Party Samajwadi Party member Abu Azmi for his views regarding the punishment of rape victims. When she participated in a PETA India advertisement she made an announcement that stated she is vegan. Her name was listed as the most beautiful woman in India during the year 2006.
